DEWALT DW920K-2 7.2-Volt Heavy Duty Cordless Screwdriver Kit
Cordless screwdrivers are nothing new, but this model from DeWalt puts a heavy-duty twist on the idea, and professionals are sure to appreciate it. DeWalt's 7.2-volt has the most powerful battery pack of any cordless screwdriver on the market, without sacrificing compact design. This screwdriver gets into all the tight spots cordless drills can't, and unlike other cordless screwdrivers, it won't leave you wishing for more power once there. Its 80 inch-pounds of torque is beyond even the toughest competing model, and with 16 clutch settings, it's easy to avoid stripping out screws. We also like this tool's quick-change keyless chuck and the extra maneuverability provided by the two-position handle. This is a generous kit, including the driver, a charger, two batteries, two bits, and a tough case. It may not be a revolution, but it does seem to be the first serious cordless screwdriver designed with professionals in mind. --Brian Trinen

    my goto tool

I'm really surprised I haven't burnt this little driver up or fried the batteries. I use it for everything. I'm a big fan of the bits with the hex loc (whatever they're calling it) I have one of the big craftsman sets of drill bits and driver bits. I swear I didn't need to buy my 18V dewalt drill at all because I use the 7.2 for things I wouldn't have thought it could handle. I drove most of the screws in my deck with this thing. With the craftsman bit set, and the 7.2...I rarely need any other tools when I'm doing little jobs around the house. In fact...I use my dewalt 4pak combo so little, the batteries stopped working. (that's a whole different peev with DW). I cringed at the price of the 7.2, but I dont regret it. I only have three complaints. 1) I cant find a holster anywhere that will hold this thing securely. It flaps around or slides out of every holster I've tried. They should have included some kind of holder and even included the little asessory flip pouch I paid extra for. At $100, you'd think it would be a no brainer. 2) It is just a little heavy for a general purpose driver. I almost bought one of those little millwaulkee ones(2.4V I think), but the price wasn't much better, and it cant drill or do half what the dewalt can. With a bit in the dewalt, the sheer size and weight make it a bit clumsy when you have it on your hip (even more reason to include a special holster). 3) They should have included more adjustability in the pivot. I use it locked at the angle all the time, but sometimes I wish it would lock at degrees inbetween. It would be nice if it would bend a bit further also. (I'm sure 90degrees would be out of the question, but I'm no engineer). Okay...well I just thought of a 4th idea...They should make a small regular chuck that you could slip in there, just in case you need to use a bit without the hex-loc. All in all...this is one of my favorite tools in the garage.
    very useful tool

I love using this driver. Its got plenty of umph for its size.
    Great Cordless Screwdriver!!!

I own numerous cordless drills and cordless screwdrivers. This one really fills the gap. Light weight and strong power, for its size. I do a lot of electrical work, which entails drywall repair amongst other things. It has enough power to drive drywall screws in, yet small enough to get into those small places. I wouldn't sheet rock a room but it's great for small jobs. Attaching cabinet hinges, electrical work and driving hex nuts, it works great in all applications. Really beats the pants off of the B&D 3 volt screw drivers. The clutch has excellent range. At the 1 setting you can drive screws into a switch face plate without breaking the plate. The higher numbers correspond almost exactly to the release pressure of my other DeWALT drills.

I knocked off one star due to the poor quick release design. By the way, it hasn't been fixed. When you push the sleeve back, towards the screw driver, it releases the bit. Like others have said, when you bump it or put it in your tool belt the bit can release. It hasn't been a huge problem, just an annoying issue. The problem is that there is a small spring that helps release the bit. So it shoots it across the room. It really doesn't make any sense, since their impact drivers have the release mechanism going in the opposite direction. That said, I would buy this again and recommend it to anyone. Hopefully, some day, DeWALT will act on these reviews. For the price this is a great deal. The batteries have long run times and the charger is the latest 3 mode version which allows you to leave the battery in the charger all the time without damaging the battery. In fact that is what they recommend, keep one in the charger at all times. It charges, conditions and then maintains a trickle charge after that. I wish that I would have purchase this item long ago. Have fun.

Update: I have now been using this tool for about 6 months. It still works flawlessly. I would like to add a note on the quick release. I think that DeWALT's thinking on the way the bit releases is for ease of use and quick action. Typically if you are using this tool, you will be changing from flat head to phillips again and again. By tapping the release the bit quickly pops out and to attach a new one you just shove it in. If, like on their impact driver, you had a locking mechanism it would be more difficult to release and install the bit. This is supposed to be for light duty work. This cordless screwdriver is now the first tool into my bag for any project. I can't imagine leaving home without it.

    I can't complain

The bag is easy to attach, remove and empty - that's what probably matters the most I guess. On the downside the bag is a bit small (my lawn is not big, but still I need to empty it once in between. I cut the grass every 7-10 days). The side bag attaches to a separate arm on my B&D mower. Not only that it looks awkward and ugly when attached, but it also gets in way of almost anything. I have learned to live with that.
    Reasonable Expectations

The bag itself seems well constructed, is easy to attach, and easy to empty. It's a little smaller than the bag you may be accustomed to if you have been using a gas powered mower. Since it is used on a side discharge mower, B&D has elected to use a separately attached side support arm that seems a little awkward, but does the job well enough.
    grass catcher

Since my lawn mower only accepts a side grass catcher I of course had to choose this item. I am happy that I was able to purchase this item from you, but I wish my mower could accept a back grass catcher because this one sticks out and gets in the way of anything that I have to get near, such as the house or a plant, etc. I would have to say that I am otherwise happy with my purchase.
